As the Chaplain, it is my absolute joy to see students grow in their Faith in Jesus. One of the initiatives we have started for this purpose is J.O.L.T. - a weekly lunchtime gathering of Christian students, to encourage one another, pray together, and stir each other's Faith. Seeing about a dozen secondary school students grow in boldness and passion for The Lord is so beautiful to behold. I truly see this student-led movement as integral to what God is doing in this next generation. Each week a different student prepares and shares a short devotion.
With her permission, I’d love to share with you the devotion that Hannah-Lee recently shared on ‘Confidence and The Armour of God’, from Ephesians 6:10-18 - I think it will fill you with hope for what God is doing in the lives of students. Here it is:
Keys to confidence
Can we have confidence in victory by ourselves?
It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes. Psalm 118:8-9
Does faith in God make our troubles disappear, or our enemies smaller?
Faith in God makes them less scary
GOD GIVES US EVERYTHING WE NEED TO BATTLE AGAINST SIN
Prayer
helps hold amour together
nothing is too big or impossible because God can do anything he wants (Don't be discouraged if God doesn't answer a prayer the way you want him to because that might not be what he wants for you)
Why is it important to put on our spiritual armour?
Without it we will be weak and easily defeated
God has given us armour to fight against sin and He has promised to always be with us in this battle - He will fight with you !!!
