Throughout the past few weeks of term, the Year 9 and 10 Life Skills class has experienced a variety of activities regarding skills for life. The first half of the term was spent talking about money - how to be wise with it, so what better way to finish our mini topic than to play a round of Monopoly?! Except this time, we had a twist: we had to measure who had made the most money overall with the least invested. Adam Diagne from Year 9 took out first prize.
The University that we visited this term was Murdoch. The students enjoyed themselves in the relaxed atmosphere as it synchronised with the University's mid-year break. The two workshops that ran were Creative Writing and Sports Science, both of which were thought-provoking and inspiring.
The second mini-topic has addressed the beginnings of vehicle awareness. Checking the water, oil, and tyres has just scratched the surface of vehicle awareness. We hope to investigate the cost of running a vehicle for a year, changing a tyre and hypothetically choosing a car to buy. Here are some photos for your enjoyment.
