Hello! My name is Talitha, and I am the Year 3 teacher here at ACC Darling Downs.
I enjoyed growing up in Tasmania by the sea and then on a farm. I am grateful that God placed me in a family with parents who are committed Christians and that God saved me at a young age.
As a child and teenager, I loved reading and then developed a love of learning, mostly through reading. I wanted others to enjoy learning, and when I was a teenager studied to be an education assistant, with the goal to study teaching next. After University, I taught in the WA goldfields for a few years, including in an Aboriginal community, before moving to Canberra for a year to live with family again. In Canberra, I studied teaching English as a second language and taught in a school where I taught every year level. I moved back to Perth and since then I have taught preprimary, Years 1, 3 and 4.
Serving in church has also been a big part of my life since returning to Perth. I have been coordinating Years 1 to 6 at my church for three years and I am really enjoying it. The highlight of this year has been getting married to my husband, Callum.
I still enjoy reading a lot and love getting out in God’s creation by going camping.
