Naplan

NAPLAN will be underway from this Wednesday, 12 March. Naplan is a great opportunity for students to practice their skills in completing assessments in a test environment. NAPLAN provides schools with an important snapshot of student and cohort skills and abilities in the areas of literacy and numeracy. It is just one measure amongst many that are used by our school to determine how to best support your child’s education. 

For our Year 9 students, NAPLAN can be used to demonstrate competency in literacy and numeracy, an essential component of gaining a Western Australian Certificate of Education. For those who do not meet this minimum standard through Year 9 Naplan, we will be holding Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessments for students in Years 10, 11 and 12.

During the NAPLAN assessments, it is important that students get enough sleep and maintain a healthy diet. While it can be normal to feel a little anxious before assessments, it is important for students to remember that the Naplan is just one component of their learning journey and it is not a barrier to future success.
