Our Years 3 and 4 students have created amazing robots in Tech and Design in the past 2 weeks.
In this unit, students could communicate their ideas through drawing and making. We looked at examples of objects that serve a practical purpose but are also designed with an aesthetic element. Our students had to identify a problem around school and design a robot that could solve that problem. We looked at creative design solutions for real problems. Working in collaboration with a new partner, proved to be challenging at times, but I am so proud of our students who persevered, and learned to share their ideas, but also listened and accepted other's ideas.
The results are robot designs that might come to life in the future. Robots that clean the classes, fix anything that is broken, dry the dew from the grass in the mornings before school, a robot that can fix the potholes in the carpark and pick up all the rubbish around the school.
Well done Years 3 and 4! Your creativity blew me away.
