This term in Visual Art, Year 3 students have been working on a vibrant Tree Weaving project that combines painting, design, and textile skills. Beginning with painted skies and learning about foreground, middle ground, and background, students explored how colour and value create depth. They then turned their artworks into circular looms, carefully threading yarn to create a warp.
Over several weeks, students practised the over-under weaving technique to form tree trunks and branches using a variety of textured yarns. The results are creative, colourful, and uniquely personal — and the students are so proud of their beautiful woven landscapes!
