This term in Visual Arts, our Year 6 students have been exploring how art can communicate emotion and meaning, inspired by the work of French street artist JR. Students began by taking expressive black-and-white portraits and are now transforming them into powerful pencil drawings. They have been learning how to use shading techniques such as tone, contrast, and texture to bring their portraits to life.
Through close observation and thoughtful reflection, each student’s artwork expresses a personal emotion or message. The results are both visually striking and deeply meaningful — we can't wait to share them with you soon!
