On 18 and 19 September, the Year 7 students participated in a Leadership and Teambuilding Day Camp with Cru West. Throughout the camp, students learned about Jesus’ example of leadership, which centres on serving others rather than focusing on oneself. They were reminded of His immense love for us and that each person is uniquely and lovingly created by God, with special gifts to contribute to their community.

Students engaged in various team-building activities, including archery tag, which encouraged them to practise personal leadership and collaboration. They also enjoyed time together through games, shared meals, and mutual support, strengthening their sense of fellowship and teamwork.

On the second day, the group visited Mundaring Weir to explore how it supports the development of the mine sites in Kalgoorlie and contributes to Western Australia’s economy. The students were fascinated by the engineering design of the dam and pumping station.

Overall, the camp was a valuable experience for our Year 7 students as they learned about true leadership, teamwork, and the importance of valuing one another.
