Yr 4 & 5 Technologies - STEM Challenge: Build It Better! 🛠️

In Year 4, students are diving into the exciting world of materials as part of their technologies curriculum with our STEM Challenge: Build It Better!

In this hands-on activity, students are tasked with exploring park design and have been designing and constructing structures using a variety of materials. They used marshmallows and sticks to explore how different materials—like wood, metal, fabric, and plastic—can impact the strength, durability, and functionality of their creations. Through trial and error, they will go on to learn about material properties and how to make smart choices when solving real-world engineering problems in playground and park design. It’s a fantastic opportunity for creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork—all while exploring the fascinating world of materials!
